A Cold Grey Day Never Felt So Good. - W9R3 Done

I can barely believe it but I've done it!

I started this plan in secret, not wanting the extra pressure and fearing failure, testing myself after a discussion in the pub. It didn't stay secret for the full length of the plan as I was spotted in the park, but now I want to shout it from the rooftops!

It's largely irrelevant, but I managed the full 5k in 30m 40s and I feel on top of the world.

So the Birchwood Santa Dash in a couple of weeks will be my first proper event, then we'll have to see what I can do to keep the motivation up.

What a great achievement, Trebor! And a fantastic time! Good luck for the fun run. :)

Thank you. I'm still not sure there is such a thing as a "fun" run! There are good runs and bad runs, but fun? That may come with time I guess.

Well done for keeping it a secret, for finishing the programme and for doing 5k in such a great time! No wonder you feel so good - you deserve to.

You have to message JR21 to get your green badge.

Thanks. I'm quite shocked with how quickly you can make progress if you stick with the plan. Week 1 I thought I wouldn't make it to the end of the first minute, Along the way I re-ran a couple of runs, added a few extra rest days, but with perseverance and eventually belief in the plan, I reached the goal and feel so much better for it. I've lost a little weight, my trousers are a little looser, but I've also learned something about perseverance, planning, and probably most importantly, self belief.

Hi Treborstone & Viv - it's me, Sara.... I think John must be away or hidden under an avalanche of Graduates! Not sure when those badges will arrive - waiting for it reminds me of the excitement of waiting for my swimming badges to arrive and have them sewn on my swimsuit when I was a littl'un!!!!!

I do like that we get to play :-)!!

Brilliant Treborstone - like me, I guess you are wondering where your Green Badge is. It must be John's week off or something.

Anyway..... what a wonderful achievement - Pubs aren't just a waste of space then :-)!!! You are right, it is amazing how quickly graduation comes upon us. Perhaps the memory of all the fears, doubts, puffing and pain is just eradicated when we complete that last run because, honestly, I can barely recall the runs prior to that last one.

Excellent - well done and congratulations, Sara :-)

Oh yes the Santa Suit is compulsory, but I'd wear it even if it wasn't! I hope it doesn't rain though I imagine it will be heavy when wet.

Well done, Treborstone - I'm so pleased for you. I kept it a secret for a bit too because I thought I wouldn't stay the course but you're right, it is amazing how this plan gets you running and how quickly it does it. And the mental and attitude benefits are brilliant too. Keep running - nothing can stop you now! :-)
