W9 R2 Done!! Nearly there...

Ok I'm really getting the bug now!

Was a bit worried today as Monday's run was so lovely, early morning sunny but fresh. Today was midday and hot again!

But, hey ho, started off slowly waiting to get my pace and rhythm set 5 mins later. Then suddenly miracle of miracles, the sun went behind a large cloud making the temperature much cooler with a gentle breeze! Heaven!!😊

I managed to up my pace a bit and at the 20 min mark was considering running for 5 extra mins going into the walking/cool down part (and then timing a 5 min cool down), when, out came the sun again bringing the heat with it!!! Someone is obviously telling me to stick to the programme and not to get ahead of myself!!

I can honestly say I have really enjoyed these last 3 weeks, something I could never have imagined 9 weeks ago, and to top it all I used map my run today for the first time and found to my delight that I had run 4.30 km when I assumed I was at 3.5!!!

I'm already looking forward to R3 and checking the forecast!!! Not long now!!! πŸ˜ŠπŸƒ

Yep the temp certainly makes things a bit tougher but sounds like you handled it well, just one little trot round now and you're on the podium

Well done you

Thanks rollysmate! There has been many a time when I thought, "why didn't I start this in September rather than the end of June"! But I'm so glad I did!!!πŸ˜€ I even did the 20min run in the midday sun on my 57th birthday - no one knew as I hadnt told my family! I felt so secretly proud at my celebratory meal that night! Just goes to prove you're never too old!!!πŸ‘΅πŸΌπŸƒ

Well done!! I'm hoping to do one of those in the future! I'm going to concentrate on 30 mins for a while & then either more time or distance. When did you start running?
