Hello, especially to karenberry13, catloversue and others. I've just completed R2 of W5 and can't quite believe the next run is for 20 minutes without a break. Yikes I'm a bit freaked out by the thought but I'm going to hopefully do R3 on Sunday and run along the river and park here in Shrewsbury. Keeping fingers crossed its not raining or too cold. Come on Week 5-ers. Hope to hear from some of you with progress reports. SB x

We are going for Sunday too (visitors arriving tonight so won't manage before then). The power of positive thinking is whats going to get us round the 20 mins (I hope)!

I just did W5 R3 last night. Like you I was absolutely horrified when I first realised I'd have to step up to 20 minutes when I'd only just got my head around doing 8! And I tried every excuse I could think of to not do it - it was actually freezing cold and raining but my conscience still made me go out! And I'm so glad I did because it was fine. I found between 5 and 10 minutes I had a moment of panic because my calves started cramping a bit and I thought I might have to stop, but I slowed down a bit, relaxed and carried on. I actually got into my stride after that and even had a 'proper' runner say hello to me (he obviously didn't detect that I'm a phoney runner!) Best of luck with your run on Sunday - there's no doubt you can do it.
