Set off today and I think several things helped me to have the best run since I started the programme. A plumber booked for 9am didn't turn up or call so I had to wait until 1pm for the morning slot to end. Needless to say I was pretty hacked off which I think might have given me a bit of extra fire in my legs !!
Secondly I had to buy new trainers as the inside of my last ones, peeled away and gave me a huge blister during my last run and I couldn't fix them. Without fail every run so far I set off far too quickly and suffer towards the end. This time I took it slightly easier to break them in and due to the ground being slightly slippy with wet leaves I took much more caution and didn't even begin to feel the run until around 20min mark.
I was really pleased and when I got home and mapped my run I think it was about 2.9 - 3miles (not sure exactly due to running around the park and using straight lines to map it rather than the wiggly path I ran !!) so I am also on course for the 5K / 30mins.
Less than 2 weeks till my first 5k run which was such a good idea to book as I am much more motivated to keep going considering the weather rather than using it as an excuse.
Last run is going to be around a track so I can see if I can either run the 12 1/2 laps in the 30mins or keep going to give myself a time to beat in the run. Much happier now than I was when the plumber failed to turn up
