Now the cold, wet season is just about here, can anyone recommend any gear to keep out the worst of the weather? I'm determined the weather won't stop me running - unless it's deep snow or really slippy.

We had a wee discussion on jackets - whether to go waterproof or water-resistant? - on here:

Other recommendations on here have included buying running gloves (Lidl had them on offer last week) and hats, but not too thick as you're likely to overheat. I use a buff as a nice thin breathable hat, or a a neck scarf or even a face mask to cover your mouth and nose when it's really cold.
Thank you. A Buff sounds like a good idea. Was trying to think what I could use that was not too thick and warm. Will try to find a Lidl and have a look there too. Not sure about jackets - think I will just carry on getting wet until I can make up my mind which way to go.
Personally I find that jackets are more trouble than they are worth and I have decided to just learn to love the rain!. Proper running leggings and tops in wicking fabrics don't hold the water much in any case but I avoid cotton in the wet as it can get quite chilly. I do find a light fleece handy when it is cold though. I just tie it around my middle when I have warmed up. So far I've never felt the need of a hat or gloves and I started in Feb when it was quite cold. Oldgirl doesn't even let the snow stop her - she just puts on her spikes and off she goes!
Thank you. I think I've probably come to the conclusion that I will just get wet. I do have a flourescent jacket that keeps a light shower off so will make do with that. I tried my husband's Buff last night and that worked a treat. Can't go without my gloves!!!! Where would I put my key........
