I first met Laura about 4 weeks ago after a post on MSE. She persuaded me to actually buy some trainers (rather than Kickers boots or sandals) and took me out on my first run on the Wednesday. 60 seconds running, looking back now 60 seconds seems a piece of cake, but back then it was about all I could do and would take the whole 90 seconds walk to recover for the next run.
By week 2 Laura had me hooked though it was only at the end of week 3 that we decided that as I knew where my knees were all the time that I would invest in 'proper' running shoes. Gait analysis followed, along with looking up words like supinate and pronate on the internet and expanding my vocabulary.
This morning I finished week 4's runs, the first run in the rain, though not proper rain just that fine drizzly stuff. Now comes the hard part, heading into week 5 come Wednesday after work.
How's my fitness now? It still takes almost the whole 90 seconds to recover from the run, but at least the run was 3 times as long. And my knees are somewhere in my legs, they're not moaning at me all the time.
