I wore my lovely new Tshirt at Parkrun this morning and got another new PB 31.42, not bad for the Oldgirl even though I say so myself ;)

email yesterday said my tee would be back from the printers middle of next week so could be some time before it gets to me :( I ordered largest size to fit my size 16 chest so they probably ran out of printing ink! Fantastic time oldgirl! Well done :) Think it will be some time before I can do 5k in under 35 minutes but am using speed podcasts to see if it does what its name promises :D

Its speed I've been using to try and reduce my time and it seems to be working too. My dream would be to get under 30 minutes but to be honest I think my little legs are just too darn short!!

Hope you like your Tshirt when it arrives.

The only thing I found with mine this morning was my belt kept riding up I think that was probably because the material is quite silky smooth feeling. Otherwise I'm really pleased with it, I had a few comments too on my "posh Tshirt"!!

Well done! Good timing for the Parkrun. I'd like to try one; not just yet, but maybe in a few weeks...?

I hope mine makes me go faster when it arrives - if it does, I'll buy ten and wear them all at once !! ;-)

Just think if you wore the tee shirt and your go faster hat you'd be well under 30mins!

Oh and we'll done on the PB!

How inspirational you all are! I'm still only doing 4.10K in 30 mins and I really AM an oldgirl! I've been working on stepping stone podcast, but maybe I'll start on the speed one. I'm also going to do a Parkrun but only when I've improved....don't want to come in last!! Obviously the tee-shirt is a must!

I'm with you Rosie, no quicker than when I graduated and didnt get on with the stepping stone podcast at all.Am now going out with my own tunes but I do miss Laura. Like you I'd love to do a parkrun but not quite yet! x

Try Speed Barney019, its short and fast but only for 1 minute bursts, it really helps you to get into a faster stride. I love this podcast and was out doing it this morning.

Don't put off Parkrun for too long either, its such a friendly venue with all abilities taking part, there are some serious runners too of course. The Parkrun has a lot of information on its site which will show you how fast/slow your local one is, if you go into Results the latest run will give you a good idea on number of runners and all the times/age groups etc for each week. But at the end of the day just keep on enjoying your running thats the most important thing of all. :)

Hi Oldgirl,

Yes, someone else suggested I might prefer this one so will give it a try. Would also have to do the Parkrun by myself as I dont know anyone else who'd be interested!

Got my T shirts this morning - am hoping they'll make me go faster too!! x

Don't worry about being on your own at Parkrun Barney019 I have for a year now been a lone runner and Parkrun was the first time I ever ran with other people, they make you feel very welcome, I would say I now feel like I'm part of the family ;) I have to confess though I still cannot hold a conversation and run at the same time!!!

Me neither - I was horrified a couple of weeks ago when a proper runner - an older guy caught me up and ran with me chatting away - I could hardly breathe but managed to gasp a few sentences before practically begging him to go and not run at my pace! By the way saw your picture oldgirl and think you really need to rename yourself!! xx
