1st run of my training plan for October's 10km race. I did 8.5km tonight at running club!!! Think this is the furthest I've ever gone. It wasn't fast and there was a fair bit of walking (have just had a 3 week break!) but did it in 70 mins. Beginning to believe that I'll be able to do get round that 10km race!

Next run planned for Thursday...bring it on!

Well done ! I think I did 7.66km off road in 1hr2mins at running club tonight. I did my 10k in 1hr10mins on Sunday (with some walking) and I reckon you are more than on target for at least that pace in October !

I'd be really happy with 1 hr 10 mins for 10k sfb350. At the mo, I've set myself a goal of 1hr 20 mins but will reassess nearer the time...would love to get a good time

It won't let me reply to your comment Deryn61. I am doing the Petts Wood 10k which is just up the road from me...mostly of road and hilly! Have been told it's a tough course but hey ho!! Will just have to enjoy the countryside!

Been suffering a bit today...think I've pulled something in my groin (first injury!). Going to rest tomorrow instead of doing planned run with the hope by Friday evening I'm OK. First time anything other than shins / calves have hurt! :(

oh no! Hope thats a mild injury that dissapears quickly!

I read above that your 10k is relatively close to you, why not run / walk the route before the actual race, just to get an idea of your time? I did that as my 10k in October starts & ends 5 minutes from my front door so now I've got a time to beat :)

Have thought of this but as a tough route I don't want to scare myself lol
