And into week 7....

I haven't blogged for a while due to very little to report. I completed all of week 6 with few problems and have now done my first run of week 7!

My 25 minute run yesterday went so well. I am now back in the much cooler UK which meant I didn't have to get up too early to run and the change of scenery made a nice change. It also meant I could finally use the Endomondo app which I had heard so many great things about and I wasn't disappointed! Highly recommended to anyone with a smart phone - completely free and every kilometre it tells you how long it took you to run it, which I found very helpful and motivating.

The run itself was actually very enjoyable, though it took me about 10 minutes to get into it. But the last 10 minutes or so really flew by and I was amazed to realise I was actually feeling pretty fine with 5 minutes to go. I ran about 3.9km so my aim by the end of week 7 is to reach 4km which hopefully I'll manage. My next run is scheduled for tomorrow morning, but unfortunately after that I'm at a festival until next Tuesday so my third run will have to wait until then.

The one problem I have come across is blisters! They started at the end of week 6 and got worse again with yesterdays run. Looks like it might be time for a new pair of trainers and might just have to grin and bare it until then and make do with some compeed.

Absolutely loving the programme and can't believe how far I have come. These weeks have gone SO quickly and the fact I can now run 25 minutes is very hard to believe. I'm already getting very excited planning a regime for post C25K, hopefully training for a 10k.

Good luck to all of you runners out there!

Well done! Sounds like you're sailing through it. Think you should reward your efforts with some new trainers, I got some running shoes halfway through and they really helped. you'll be graduating in no time!

Just did my second run and the blisters are back! Definitely time for a new pair of trainers - I assume they're the reason rather than my style of running?
