Well I completed the 5k run 2 weeks early last week, big mistake.. I was out running and completed the 25 minutes fine, but I decided I was feeling so good I would carry on running.

I ended up running for 35 minutes - 5.6K and it felt great, all fine until I went to bed that evening.

I woke up and my ankle ached, I thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. The next morning it still ached.

It has now been 6 days since my last run and it still hurts, its really depressing that all my hard work is being undone.

Well done on your 5K + run and sorry to hear you have pain now. You made the same mistake as I did when I was doing the C25K for the first time, quite simply its a case of too much too soon. With me it was both my knees and all doc said was take anti-inflamatory and rest, i.e. no running for about 2 weeks. For once I did as I was told and then took it easy for the first couple of runs. I hope your ankle settles down soon, I'm sure it will with rest. I don't think it can be anything worse than inflamation causing the pain because you would have felt it at the time of running. Take care, you'll get back soon I'm sure.
