9am, 27° in sunny Switzerland and off I went for W4R1... Okay it was probably a bit cooler in the woods but still... where do you draw the line between getting fit and being stupid?? I remember once seeing someone who'd collapsed after a hot half-marathon and at the time I thought, what an idiot, pushing themselves like that in this weather - and there was me today... I was jogging round telling myself the identical second I started feeling off I would stop immediately, but maybe I wouldn't have. I don't know. At least it distracted me from the length of the runs I didn't take water because you just have to carry it and I already have sunspecs, ipod and keys to look after... maybe I should have.
Anyway, I completed the session tho' the last 5 min run was tough. And you have never seen anyone jogging slower. I've decided I'm going to stick with W4 now as long as this hot weather lasts. And now that I've proved twice my back won't fall off if I go early on I think a pre-breakfast run might be best next time.
Onwards and upwards!
