I graduated in July & continue running 3x week. During every run I wheeze every now & then.y husband thinks it's because I've anever been a runner & not the fittest. Never suffered with any form of astama before.
Does anyone have 'runners astama?': I graduated... - Couch to 5K
Does anyone have 'runners astama?'
I'm asthmatic and have been since 6 week's old (after whooping cough) so I can't comment on runners asthma but always use my inhalers before a run. What I would say though is the pollen count if high may bring on a hayfever wheeze, you could try taking a mild anti-histamine tablet and if that doesn't work a visit to the doctor might be best to get it checked out.
I went to the drs after being very short of breath running, I was prescribed an inhaler and antihistimines (probable hay fever) I've never had hay fever or asthma before. Monitored my peak flows for 2 weeks and told doesn't look like asthma. I still use the inhaler before running, seems to work
Thankyou for your replies. Going to the docs on Mon so will be interesting to see what he says.
