I've recently developed pain in my hamstring area which feels like bruising. It randomly started yesterday and don't know whats triggered it (didnt have a run for a few days).... I'm worried that it'll stay around until a week this Sunday when I've got a charity run...!
Is anyone else having problems with their hams... - Couch to 5K

Hey, I've had a iffy hamstring, mine also developed randomly - it felt settled so I went out on a run and damaged it even more It says to ice it alot, and I brought myself a thigh strap which has also helped! for me it kills to even walk up and down the stairs and my Doc told me to not run on it until it doesn't hurt to go up and down stairs...
Sorry not much help - I hope it feels better by your charity run.
Thanks for the advice. I did rest it last night and it was pain free this morning untill I got to work, so maybe thats a good sign. I'll try and rest it this weekend and get myself a support. Typical for it to happen so close to the run!

I had niggles the other week - I took a couple of Ibruprofen about half an hour before my runs and it helped a lot. Am niggle free now. Might be worth a try for you unless it is really painful, then you need to rest it.
