It doesn't seem that long ago since I was panicking about running for 3 minutes, and now I'm able to run for 3 sets of 5 minutes! Ok, it's hardly Olympic athlete standards, but I'm now feeling a wee bit more like a runner than an amateur.
I ran on a completely new route today, straight from the house and along the busy road. There was a wee bit of rain too, but I found that was really useful for keeping me cool. I don't know how I'll handle a proper Scottish downpour though (when it inevitably comes)! I was pleased with how far I managed to run today. I think running locally means that I know how far I'm actually going, so I guess I surprised myself with how far I actually got.
I misunderstood the middle run too, because I thought it was only for 3 minutes. You can't beat the feeling of running for longer than you thought! My spirits were dampened on the way back by a keen bus driver, who managed to soak me by driving straight through a puddle. Anyone that's ever seen Bridget Jones' Diary will know exactly what I mean!
