I have been running 3x a week since my graduation a few months ago. Now all of a sudden I am plagued with a stitch on the Right side for the past few runs...breathing deeply does help but it is so painful...I run first thing in the morning so have NOTHING to eat or drink before I go out...any ideas or tips please!!????

Sorry to hear that, same thing has happened to me and for the first time since I completed intervals (end of week 6), I had to stop mid-run this morning, and the dustbin men were looking at me very funny groaning away (can't hear myself with my headphones in!)...

Sorry I don't have any advice, but I'll be watching for answers here. Thanks.

I get that sometimes too, and concentrating on regular breathing helps. I slow down a little, breathe steadily and try to maintain form. I think it's quite important that you don't lean too far forward. So, head up, sholders back, tuck your bum in and relax. Imagine your legs are going in circles, rather than one in front of the other. Couple of minutes concentrating on that lot and you've entierly forgotten you had a stitch!

A drink before you run will help prevent stitch so have some water or juice when you get up.
