Week 4 and good news from the doctor.

Well I've managed to build back up, following time out for bad knees and have run my second run of week4 all the time with trepidation, but my knees feel a bit better.

Anyway had an appointment today with the Dr that I'd booked two weeks ago, to get me knees checked out, to make sure I wasn't doing any damage and the good news is that me knees are fine, no damage to knees, cartlidge etc, it's only my muscles, which is what i was hoping, so more stretching is the prescription he gave me.

He also tried to talk me into cycling, cross training and swimming in stead, but i'm already a bit addicted to running (can't believe I say that now), so care, occasional extra rest days and plenty of stretching, and I might add cycling and swimming to my repatoir at a later date.

I'm so chuffed and I know a bit of the enjoyment that I'd replaced with a bit of worrying is allowed to return.

Woohoo...Bring it on Laura! :-)

Good news Phil, well done. I swim on 2 of my rest days and really enjoy the totally different type of exercise too. Its a good exercise as its not loading your joints with additional pressure also if done correctly helps with your breathing. Not too expensive either, its got such a lot going for it.

Lost a few stone, ten years ago with swimming, so just need to get back into it. Just takes a bit more effort (mental and time arranging)to go swimming.
