I completed week 7 last Tuesday and haven't run since. I'm upset about this because before now I have always run 3 times a week and rigidly kept to the plAn. Should I re-start wk 7 or perhaps do one 25 min run and then move on to wk8?

  • You won't have lost much fitness in less than a week so I would probably try week 8 and see how it goes. Plus the music on week 7 is dire! It's all long runs from here so if 28 mins is too much you can always stop at 25 and call it week 7! Good luck! Bet you manage it fine but if not there is no shame in repeating a run or even a whole week. Not very many people get to the end of the programme in just 9 weeks. Life has a way of getting in the way. :-)

  • I didn't run for nearly two weeks after failing the first 2 runs of Week 7, I had lost heart. When I did go for a run again, I ran for 32 mins nonstop and it didn't feel hard. I have since completed W8 and about start W9 today.

I agree with pingle, you won't of lost much fitness at all and the rest might have a beneficial effect on your running, try W8R1 you may be pleasantly surprised.

    Good luck.

  • Thank you for your comments. I did 25 mins again this morning and did it quite easily despite the short break, so 28 mins here I come!
