1st week after graduation, proud of my badge but not sure I deserve it.

Deep down though I know I do and I'm working hard at not beating myself up about missing a run or doing a shorter one because its so hot. I'm hoping this attitude will keep me going doing regular runs....after all as ive been telling everyone about c25k they keep asking how its going so i've not much choice really!

Funny though I'm already looking forward to chillier days as i do seem to be struggling in the heat.

I moaned about the cold weather and now really moan about the heat! I'd take cold over hot now ;)

Of course you deserve your graduate badge, you earned it by doing the program. Even if you aren't doing all 30 min or 5k runs at the moment, you know you can because you have. A run is a run.

Even long-time, experienced runners hate running in the heat, especially if there is a fair amount of humidity mixed in, too. It's ugly, for sure. I'm with you, longingly looking forward to cooler temps. (hopefully I'll have a graduate badge also by that time....lol)

Do what you can, sounfit, and don't beat yourself up over it.

Good running....

Don't worry about it, I often cut my runs short when it's warm. I find running it the heat frustrating so I head away from the house for 10 mins then turn around and try get back quicker.

Normally i'd go out for anywhere between 30 and 60 mins. Doing shorter is better than doing nothing!

You earned your badge so don't be down about it! Your doing great x

Well I proved today that shorter fast runs are more beneficial to cut your time, cos I've been mixing up my runs, 3 x 3.5Km most weeks with just the odd 5K thrown in. Today I ran Parkrun and knocked 1.18 seconds of my best Parkrun time, 1.06 off my own timed 5K. Now I had been running 5K's and nothing else but could not get passed my usual time. So don't beat yourself up and say your shorter runs are not helping cos I would say they are probably doing more good. You also have to listen to your body, if its very hot and you are struggling your better to call a halt or you may well make yourself ill.

I have also found in really warm weather that the fumes from the traffic don't rise into the air as quickly so air quality is poor, its better first thing in the morning, its cooler too so perhaps try a very early morning run if its possible.

Good luck
