It is a massive achievement what do you mean?

8-)

ha compared to those on week 4+ (something I can only dream about right now!) it's probably not that impressive! ... though I will keep dreaming of those days :)

Everyone here started at week one and for me it was the biggest challenge just having the confidence to run in public, so be proud of where you are at, if you didn't do week 1, you probably wouldn't be around to compare yourself to week 4 :)

Well done

Gosh, you're restrained. I celebrate every time I finish a /run/ let alone a week!

I'm on week four, but when I started I couldn't imagine even being this far! We will all get there if we just keep at it. :)

Finishing week one is a HUGE achievement and you should be proud!

Thanks I don't wanna celebrate too early just incase I don't manage the full week in the future!

I cannot wait to be in week 4 but probably more because I know I'll be in France and hopefully running up and down the beach ....now thats my motivation :)

I know what you mean, though - I felt like a complete newbie for the first 3 weeks, it was only in week 4 that I sort of felt like I deserved to mingle with the "proper" runners on here. Totally stupid, I know, but hey...

Woo hoo! I've just finished week 1 too. Apart from at stitch everytime I've been fine - looking forward to week 2 :) We can do it! Laura is fab

Good for you and for ellerunner - isn't it a truly great feeling? I hope you enjoy the following weeks as much. It's hard work but somehow that all adds to the fun! I can't believe I'm a week 4+ runner, when I was a week 1 runner only 5 short weeks ago. You'll find it goes really fast and that you see your fitness and stamina improving by leaps and bounds. I had never exercised before this and all I keep asking myself at 51 is "Why didn't you?" Have fun!

I wholeheartedly agree with never too late! I've just finished week 6 and believe me i NEVER thought i'd get to week 6 when i downloaded the podcasts. I have had to repeat the last run on week 6 but just think to myself 'hey! that doesn't matter you couldn't run for the bus 7 weeks ago!' lol.

It's a massive achievement and novicerunner, ellerunner and everyone else who is doing this programme should be proud of yourselves for having the balls (so to speak!) to give it a go!

Well done and keep it up!

P.S i had a stich the first few times but found that a glass of water about 30 mins before the run sorted that out

I have just completed week 1 myself and its such a buzz. I agree you feel a bit of a fraud celebrating as its not exactly running a marathon but to us previous couch lovers it is just as tough . so lets give ourselves a pat on the back and enjoy the sense of achievement

Well done, it's a huge achievement just getting out there for the first few times - especially when you feel (as I did) like a 'non- runner' /exercise disliker - it gets better and better, so keep going.

Great thing to make the start, making that first move is the most difficult bit. you will have bad runs and tough weeks but dont beat yourself up its all good in the end! (took me 9 weks to learn that!)

me too but am scared about wk 2 not sure if I should not do another wk 1 session first ....

I'm the same, finished wk 1 today but found it tougher than W1R2 (maybe because I'd eaten dinner a couple of hours earlier?). I plan to try W2 on Tuesday & see how it goes, and maybe do an extra session of week 2 instead of week one if i need to. I think we just have to take it a week at a time and see how we feel.
