Week one done!

Well roll on week 2. I must say found 1st run easier than the 3rd run. Bit apprehensive about week 2 as longer running times but determined to keep going. Any advice greatly received. I'm on the treadmill at the mo as I don't have the confidence yet to venture out.

Longer running times but fewer runs....Just keep it slow and steady and you will be fine. Good luck with Week 2

Ahh ok didn't realise fewer runs. I'm overweight anyway and on the NHS 12 week plan so slow is my only speed ha ha. Thanks for the advice :-)

Got to go with Henpen - slow and steady and this programme will get you there. Good Luck

Thank you for your support. I must admit was glad to finish the 3 runs got harder as week went on but will keep going and hopefully do the 9 weeks without any injury

well done Julia , the hardest bit is starting the program and taking those 1st steps , slow and steady is always the mantra here , pace / speed isn't important at this stage just to complete the timed runs :D stick with it you will be amazed at what you can do :D

Yes I agree. I had downloaded the app and kept looking at it for a week but all the positive comments on this site really help boost confidence and took a week but started programme and now done 1st week. Chuffed! Will keep going and thank you for your kind words.

Julia, go on, venture out. You have nothing to be worried about or ashamed of. This is the start of something big!

Ha ha thank you, I will venture out especially when weather gets better. I'm away for a long weekend end of March and my aim is to go for a nice run whilst I'm away. Fingers crossed!

Ha ha yes I am. I know the area and know there's lots of picturesque flat running space. Something I've wanted to do for years. Just hope I can do it, I've still got 4 weeks till I go :-)

I've just graduated - its an amazing programme - you'll do it, if you don't go too fast. Don't stop, just slow down if it gets too much. I find the 5 min walk from the house gets me away from any people that might know me - likewise, the 5 min cool down so I come and go just like I've been for a walk - covers up all the embarrassment - but now I can run, I don't care anymore. Yipppeee.

Congratulations and well done to you! I must admit never been much of a runner myself like the thought but never been motivated. Heard of the couch to 5k and thought would give it a go. I just hope I can see it through to graduate. That is a good idea as well but 5 mins from me in either direction is a town lol.

Thank you so much. I've done my first week 2 run now, and as people have said it's not as bad as I was expecting it to be. I find it hard to get started but I'm really enjoying it even though I'm knackered when I finish the podcast. Thank you again the people on this site are so helpful and motivating :-) x
