second thoughts for second run.....

Hmmm.... am supposed to be doing wk 1 run 2 tonight after work but a) its raining and b) my running buddy has phoned in sick. Can I face running by myself? Is this just the perfect excuse for my motivation to take a running jump? got to say i'm not feeling very energetic right now and the thought of running is not appealing at all. What to do??????

its also my Slimming World weigh in, i'm thinking how impressed they'll be if i turn up all sweaty in my running gear! Extra brownie points for me!!! (although my clothes may weigh more if they get wet)

Definitely do the run it will make you feel saintly at slimming world ;-)

You might find that you have more energy than you thought, once you get going.

Enjoy it!

Do it! I always run alone as my hubbie can't be bothered(!) and my friends either live too far away or can't run for other reasons. But the best run I have ever had was when it was raining, there's something about it that makes you feel great.

Go for it....

Do it !!! Your running buddy won't always be available after all.

Rain is good, it keeps you cool !

And imagine what your SW leader will think !

Win win all round ! :)

Running in the rain is FUN (admittedly this program had had three weeks to do its work on me before I found this out) partly because the air is clearer but mainly because it taps into the puddle jumping kid trapped inside me.

You'll be pleased with yourself even if you do question your sanity a bit. Better than feeling cross with yourself for not doing it.

Running in the rain is fine & it's great for cooling you down. Also, your friend may not always be available and as you are doing the programme for YOU I say do it!!

Just do, i run with a friend but there are times i have to run alone, its easier to run in the rain than the heat like i will be doing shortly. let us all know how you got on

I agree. Run in the rain over running in the heat any time.

Go on, go for it. My hubby is doing this too and we run on separate days!! I really love being out on my own and having the time to myself; you think, you plan, you are you and it is very liberating. Rain is good!! It's refreshing and so much easier than the heat. If you are in the UK, this will be a recurring theme!!

Good luck, you will feel fantastic for getting out there and as AliB1 says, your friend might not always be available or want to go at the same time as you.

Have fun :)

Ok guys you won me over!!!!! I did it! The strange thing was, as soon as I got out of the car, the heavens opened and the sun came shining through and it kept on shinng til I had finished. You were all right too, run 2 was slightly easier (or more correctly not quite as hard) as run 1. The worse thing is though went straight to slimming world to find I had put on a 1lb!!!!! Keep telling myself it's all these newly formed muscles!!!!!! Thank you all for your support xx

Well done you. I too had to really dig deep find the energy tonight but went and i think you feel better because you did it even when you didn't really want to. Don't worry about the scales though. I found before that the weight came off when i ran but not necessarily straight away as your body is kinda in shock at what your making it do..roll on Saturday for the next run

Ha ha! Yes you're certainly right about my body being in shock, just hope I do see some weight loss soon too!

Ahhh well done.

As for weight-loss, that's why I started this program but found i wasn't dropping any weight, until a few weeks ago and I've dropped a stone!! I'm absolutely amazed, as you do SW too you'll know how much we can eat for free! I rejoined 4 weeks ago and really didn't think I could achieve a stone for my birthday 28th June) , but combined with running I done it! Woo hoo.

SW & C25K rock!! *\o/* :)
