I never thought i would say this....i'm doing the 'Race for Life' 5K on sunday (1st July) and i actually feel quietly confident! Don't think i'll be able to jog it all but i'll do my best. I'm doing week 6 run 3 tomorrow and i never thought i'd get to that let alone be competing in a 5k!!!

I feel great but nervous as i have NEVER run this far in my life!!!!

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom?

:) me too. which one are you doing? i'm in week 8 but i'm so slow i'm not convinced i can run 5k. hoping the atmosphere and the whole being watched thing keeps me going.

I'm doing the race at temple newsam in Leeds, where are you doing yours? Don't think I'll be able to run (jog!) it all either but looking forward to the atmosphere too. Good luck let me know how you get on x

Good for you, I am tempted but I am scared I will feel the pressure of being watched. Or that t will be too hot, well I can think of lots of reasons why not!

Good luck

Thank you! I'm a little wary about being watched too! But figured it's for a good cause so what the heck!

Firstly enjoy it. It's a great atmosphere for a good cause.

If you get a chance, check out the course or ask someone who has done it before. There will be markers every km on the day, possibly some other points so you can tell how you are doing.

Join the back of the runners or the joggers and run as much as you feel comfortable with - you'll surprise yourself. Nice if you can run for the finish but don't worry there will be lots of people just walking.
