There are 2 kinds of runners...those who HAVE had a day when they would rather have their toenails pulled out with white hot tongs than to run even ONE step, and those that WILL have a day when... well, you get the point....
Had it not been for a certain picture CaroleC shared with me last night (lovely vision to hold in your mind) and Emile Coue, today's run would have been in the rubbish bin within 100 feet and I would have limped home.
As it turns out Coue's self affirming statement "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better" perfectly fits my running gait. Well, the "ev-ry-day, ev-ry-way" bit anyway (the rest became "understood"), so it became my mantra for the entire 28 minutes. Whatever works sometimes. Glad THAT is behind me and now I can get on with it. I know the runs will get better over time and miles covered...the weight will shift...and running will become more enjoyable. All good things come to them that work for them.
The picture? You'll have to ask CaroleC about that....
