Second 30-minute run - sorry, Laura, I've been unfaithful......

Technically, I suppose I should call it my W9R2. But since I've been going back and forth in the programme over the past few weeks to try to get myself back on track again, I seem to have gone from 5 x week 7 runs straight to first one and then a second 30-minute runs, skipping week 8 altogether.

Not only that, but after surprising myself by adding a further 5 minutes to what I had expected to be my sixth week-7 run two days ago, I optimistically downloaded the week 9 podcast with the aim of just continuing doing 30 minutes. Fortunately, I switched it on at home before setting out and came straight up against my all-time least favourite tune - yes, the "Julie song". Aaaaaargh!

I simply couldn't bear it. Really, this tune does my head in! So back to the computer I went for a quick google of alternative C25K broadcasts - from reading other people's blogs, I know I'm not the only one to resort to this drastic measure. The search was successful and I set out for today's run in the rain and wind listening to week 8 of the Running Mate programme. What a difference the right track makes - absolutely loved it and completed my 30 minute run soaked to the bone, windblown, out of breath but with a great big grin on my face! For anyone who wants to try this alternative podcast, here's a link to the page with the podcasts for the various weeks. Just scroll down until you find one that matches your current level of the C25K programme. runningmate.podomatic.com/

I hereby, with the utmost respect, declare "You and Julie" the most annoying track in the entire NHS Couch to 5k programme. :-D

Hard as it may be to hear, stop playing games with the music and take one run at a time. Someone told me. Just keep moving ahead. Make it about your goal.
