I am a person who has always been overweight and decided at the beginining of the year to have a change of lifestyle. During March, I discovered couch to 5k and began the programme. I used a treadmill as I had no confidence to be huffing and puffing in public. I kept to the programme and whilst not having the speed, I focused on the endurance. Last week, I decided to take the plunge and do a 5K run on the road, hills as well. Not only did I do it, I have been improving my time throughout. My last run was 5K in 36 minutes. My purpose of this blog is that I have never run in my life and I was severely obese at the end of January. Although I've always wanted to run I never thought I would. With the help of couch to 5K, I am now jogging in public and I hope my experience will inspire others, particularly on the tough weeks.

Well done! And, yes, you are an inspiration. I'm due to go for 3 minutes tomorrow and its really quite scary, but it's blogs like yours that give me courage. A big thanks!
There is something very special about this programme and the forum. It just works. I think it is the constant reinforcement you get from other people in the same boat as you physically.
Some going to be whizzing at such speed when you only started in March! In awe.
