Hi I've signed up for half marathon in sept, never really a runner , I can run about 1.1km @ the moment , where do I get training plan and is there one you can put onto iPod. Where they tell you to run , walk , run , walk? X

From 1k to a HM in four months is a big ask... Still, you pays your money, etc.

Start with Laura:

nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

Then move on to something that'll take you to HM distance. I like ASICS, it's free, seems to make sensible suggestions and can sync to google calendar and such.

Just having a look at the ASICS plan - I'm interested in the fact that it seems to recommend running consecutive days - ie. Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday - have you experienced this and how did it feel?

Yup. As you progress you need less rest, as you train more you can't always fit a full day between sessions. It's ok, I think, as long as you do still factor in rest periods. The key is build gradually.
