Went out earlier to do the w6r3 and oh my it was bad!! I am doing this with a friend, started off got to 5mins and we stopped, walked for 90sec and did another 5mins, then walked a bit and ran another 5 then gave up and got a lift home as a friend passed us lol. I think we should of prehaps not gone for the 25mins in this weather it was really hot and i've ended up with a blister on my ankle even though i've not changed my footwear. going to go out late monday eveing when it's cooler and try again.

I really struggled with week 6 run 2 on Thursday, just like you could not run for toffee. I think looking back it was a combination of being exhausted from running 20 minutes and the heat.

After lots of encouragement from others on this site, i went out this morning and completed it, and i do not feel exhausted like i did this time last week

Make sure you rest, take another day if need be then have another go, then like me im sure you will have a much better run experience.

Good luck

I'm going to attempt W6R3 later this evening. Not optimistic, but had 3!!! slices of cake at my sons 5th birthday party today, on the strength of a good run tonight so really feel I have to make an effort

The cake worked. I ran 25 minutes, 3.8km and just to be different I did it barefoot. I'm so chuffed. I'm going to have 4 slices of cake before my next run

Do not underestimate how hard it is running in this sudden heat, you are doing amazingly. I did all my running indoors and then in cool conditions (minus temperatures at times but much preferable to this extreme change to hot weather which is flooring me!)

Yes the heat will get you before the cold, the cold helps the concentration on the breathing where as the heat just seems to sap your energy. Its not easy but make sure you drink plenty of water before you go out and drink plenty afterwards too.

I ran Parkrun 5K this morning in the heat and have just counted that I have had over 3 litres of water/peppermint tea + 1pt of cider to celebrate!

I REALLY struggled running in the heat yesterday! It's tough!

If someone had offered me a lift I would have said yes, without a doubt.

Yes, running in todays heat was a bit of a killer - I couldn't cope with my gym session later on and had to give up. I don't think you need to worry - just work out a cooler time to run.
