Advantages of doing a parkrun.....

Just had an email from parkrun saying well done on finishing today and telling me that I came second in my age category veteran women 55-59. I bet there were only 2 of us anyway.... lol. But the good news is that they send you a voucher from sweatshop for £15 towards a new pair of trainers! So anyone who is thinking of buying some go and do a run and get the voucher. I would imagine its the same for all the runs. Did others get one?

The other advantage of doing a course you go round 5 times is being continually lapped by fit young men in shorts. :)

I got one. I already bought new trainers and there's not a sweatshop near me anyway. You can easily find the voucher by searching google. Just a tip if there's no parkrun in your area or you didn't get the voucher ;) Otherwise you should do a parkrun!

Was it chasing the fit young men in shorts that helped you run so quickly ? ;-)

Lol. Maybe I was going so slowly because I was enjoying the view from behind when being lapped :)

Hey BTX4 I'm impressed that you managed to check out the shorts running past you and breath at the same time. At my age if I study too hard it takes all my breath away!

I got an email I was 1st in my age group but they forgot to say there was only me in that group!:D

I got a voucher after my first parkrun. I think everyone is supposed to get one. There was a link in the email.

I haven't used mine, they gave me 20% off because I registered with the sweatshop running community and go every week. I also got 20% off some new running clothes :)
