Just completed week 4. Listening to the week ahead just now I am a bit worried about the 20 min non stop run on podcast 3. Is it really hard?

I was wondering about this a couple of weeks ago when I had just puffed my way through W4R1. (Been ill, so back to W1 or W2 when recovered) I was just going to take it steady and try not to think how long 20 minutes is.

I'm sure you will be fine. You know all these graduates are always saying it's a mental battle so think positive and let us know how you get on.

Please try not to worry! It is definitely mind over matter. I think you will be so full of adrenalin you will accomplish it! It is a very cleverly thought out podcast and you just need to trust Laura. Also I didnt feel comfortable until about 8 mins in and that was when I hit my stride. When Laura tells you that you have run for 10 mins you know that you are running for home (or plodding, in my case!) Good luck and keep us informed :)

Thanks both for those encouraging words. Will let you know how I get on. :)

Keep it a bit slower and easier and it will work out. The previous 5 weeks has prepared you for it more than you think.

Its not "easy" but you wouldn't be doing it if it was would you but it is absolutely doable.

I went running with my sister (she had been running for about 4/5 months) for the 1st time and it just happened to be the dreaded 20min run - straight away she was able to tell me I was going to fast if I wanted to last 20mins without a break so we slowed down and just enjoyed the scenery! From that I learnt that what I thought was going slow was not actually slow, so go slow and then slow it down some more!

That day we had to walk to same distance back to the car, so after a 5 minute walk my sister decided she was going to run on ahead and meet me there. Off she went and I decided I was going to run again too and did a 2nd set of 20 minutes at super duper slow this time, but it got me back to where we started.

It is mind of matter, you body is ready for it at this stage so don't worry :)

I did week 5 last week. I was petrified about the 20 min run- but it was fine! I went at about 9am, and phewee, it was hot! I tried to stay in the shade (which seemed to have miraculously disappeared?!) and just kept my feet going! I felt SO chuffed with myself! Just remember- you can do it and you'll feel great when you do!

Well done for getting to week 5- over half way!

I'm glad you shared the same feelings as me

. Well done in getting through it. I must say, on hearing your comments i'm looking forward to the feeling i'm going to get when I finish!
