Please try again...you might find that by running you could be able to sort things out a bit re: the bad news about your family member...the time spent in this activity may help alleviate the sadness and stress right now. Give it a go, OK? I'm rooting for you!
As lolly says please do try again. I had bad family news at almost exact same point in the program (about to do W2R2) - sudden death of a much loved aunt. Then I succumbed to a viral infection so I was out of action for a fortnight. It is hard to start again, but when I did I found that I wasnt right back to the beginning tho' I did 2 runs of w1 again. I think repeating those early weeks has helped me with the rest of the program. Go on, you owe it to yourself to be as healthy and strong as you can be. We're all right behind you. Good luck.
I actually lost one of my best friends and my neighbour not long after I had graduated; they died within a fortnight of each other. I found it hard to be motivated to do anything to be honest, and that included running. But i did keep it ticking over with 20 minutes here and there, and I always found that it did help. It kind of clears the mind for that time and brings some positivity back into your life; some focus, away from what has happened.
I hope you feel that you can give it another go. we will certainly do what we can to help and encourage you along the way.
Toonfan....remember how good you felt when you started the program? Maybe it can help you feel a bit better about life...you owe it to yourself...let us know on monday how you get on.
Aw I am sorry you have had bad news but HONESTLY, getting out for a run is such a tonic for so many troubles, I PROMISE you (from experience) xxx Good luck xxx
