Many of my virtual running mates were also there or thereabouts. Then a holiday, so run 2 was 2 weeks later. I beamed as the others smashed the finish line. Then came the niggling pains, the heatwave, the excuses and thus the demons. I stayed off the forum, felt a bit naff that the achievements of days past were getting more distant. Others were running as I failed to even get shoes on...
I’ll spare the playlist and humour stuff I normally write, safe to say I took on the week 7 final run yesterday. Hot, slow and ugly. But done.
No more excuses. I WILL finish this. I have a 5k to run in August!
I’m hoping there’ll be room on the podium in about 2 weeks...

Absolutely, but thankfully the knees and hips behaved and I plodded for the full duration... so as usual the fear of something is usually worse than the reality!
Oh well done you . Is that no running for 4 whole weeks and then straight back into week 7 ?In that case good on you !!! You must have been really fit to do that. I shall be watching you from the IC and willing you on now. It will be like ‘Virtual Running ‘ for me then
Oh yeah I just reread your post and see now. Doh!! I’m worried about losing my fitness and how much catching up I’ll have to do when I finally get back to it
Ive been going since January!! But main delay due to back injury. I just see how I get on, and drop back a week or so if necessary. If my break was less than 2 weeks, I found I could just pick up where I left off... but it’s all down to how you feel. Any run is good now!
Yeah I’m worried how the ankle is going to affect me. It gets a fair bit of pounding when you run so I’m going to have to be careful not to do too much too fast.
