Sad to say it’s just not happening for me these past few weeks. Combination of factors I think
1) dr has upped dose of tablets to try and prevent migraine, result is positive for heads but they are knocking me sideways...am sooo tired!
2) every year I forget how bloody exhausting Year End in a finance department is!! Totally knackered and ashamed to say that running is just not up there by the time I drag myself home. Really hoping can get out there once break up next week. A bit of down time and hopefully I can get out there. The mind is willing but the body screams no way!!
Fingers crossed for xmas break!!

I have a facebook friend who has been on one remedy for migraines that makes her lethargic and has made her gain weight. Now they want to switch it to lithium, which is probably worse. Have you spoken to your GP to see if they can tinker with the dose, or try something else? Mind you, it is an exhausting time of year. Hope you find your get up and go again x
Not lethargic during the day. No problems at work it’s just that I have to take these pills early evening and then I just want to sleep!! 🤣 need yo get year end out of the way then see how it goes.
Be kind to yourself. This is a busy time of year, and busier if you work in finance! And with that medication on top of things - sheesh! Running breaks can be beneficial, okay? You won't loose fitness that quickly. But if you can fit in a quick 15-20 mins before work, do! xxx
Like your thinking but not gonna happen...would need to get out running at 5.30 to get to work in time as is half hr drive. It will happen over xmas I’m sure.
Yes that’s what I’m thinking I still hear songs on the radio in the factory and first thought is yeah that would be good on the playlist so it’s still firmly on my mind!! 🤪
Now then...this doesn’t sound like the Polly2810 I know & love....what’s going on? I’ve heard of ‘elf on the shelf’ and the mischief they get up to but I’m thinking you’ve got Gremlins on the shelf & they’re stealing your mojo...like the grinch that stole Christmas!! I know I’m lucky as I don’t have to work so I can choose when I run, but I’ve got the bug, the same bug as you Polly...I know you must be exhausted working, I’m exhausted some days & I don’t work...but running & the buzz you get afterwards??? You know that feeling Polly...& think about all the extra Christmas treats you can have??!! I am sending you a bit of my mojo in Christmas wrapping paper..I’m sure others will send you some of theirs too??? I want you back out there with me...I like having my running family out with me & it’s not the same with one missing xxxx
I will try my best I promise!! Lead up to Christmas in finance office is totally manic..the rest of the company wind down but we wind up!! My foreign payment run went tits up cos the online banking threw a wobbler just as I hit the submit button so had to do it all again! So instead of elf on a shelf we have grouch on a couch this time of year in our house!! 🤣🤣 never mind soon be over!! Will try and dig the trainers out over the weekend but don’t shoot me if I just sleep!!!
You're thinking of it as 'not enough energy to run' (and no wonder) but do not underestimate the power of running to *give* energy (and also that mojo is not necessary for running, but often catches up if you give it a head start) Definitely time to be gentle with yourself but if you are not working all weekend, maybe it would be a good idea to get out for a little one as Sadie-runs suggests?
I'm with Mummycav sending you mojo in Christmas wrapping paper (tend to overorder on the wrapping paper so putting it to good use) BUT promise me you'll open it before Christmas Day?
I feel for you being a fellow migraine sufferer. I have come off all meds now since becoming totally Gluten free 11 months ago and also having the "migraine ear piercing" and the difference is amazing . I can count on one hand the migraines I've had and the odd normal headache goes away with paracetamol. I had a headache permanently for over 2 years which developed into a migraine regularly 😢It might be worth you trying the same ?? I have to say the running helps my head as well as my general well being . On a few occasions I have started running with a muggy head but by the time I've finished it's clear ... Result ... I only have 1 more run then I've graduated but I'm certainly continuing to run regularly after that ... I never thought I'd say I'm totally addicted to running 😂 Good luck with your migraines and your running , I hope you get some relief soon x
Hello, I'm a migraine sufferer too. I was put on pizotifen earlier this year after non- stop migraines including a collapse and visit to A&E in an ambulance. The pizotifen made me tired and I put on half a stone rapidly. Then I started Couch to 5k and it was really tough but I stuck at it and haven't looked back. Better to go out for a slow, short run than no run. Forget the early morning run - impossible when on migraine prevention drugs!
I've managed to lose the half a stone and am nowhere near as tired as I was. So stick with it, dig deep and you will succeed!
I completely empathise... been utterly knackered these last couple of weeks. Work in a secondary school and there is so much going on I feel like I am literally on my knees. I usually run about 6.30am but keep oversleeping. And I fall asleep at night... If I had migraine/medication on top of that I'd probably just sleep and work. And sleep at work. It's all too much. The xmas break will put things right again... except then it'll be hangovers & over indulgence stopping us from going out!
