Did I say I was quietly looking forward to this run? I felt as if I had gone back to the beginning! On the positive side the walk was good but then the first 5 mins, my legs felt like lead and my mind was saying 'What you want me to run again you have to be joking' But racing to my rescue was Laura, what would I do without her to give me encouragement during all the pain. I kept going until my mind said 'So whats the problem you can do this' I enjoyed the 8 min and strangely looked forward to the last 5 minutes as well. It really is mind over matter or should I say body! I am so determined to finish all the runs and run the Race for Life with my daughter. If anyone else is struggling at this stage just keep going you will get there. Thank you all once again for your inspirational stories and comments they are a huge help.

Congrats on making it through the full run - loads of people on here have found W6 hard, so it's not just you!

W6R1 is a nightmare, trust me you are not the only person that has struggled. It's something about completing that 20min then going back to intervals that does it. You persevered though so well done you :)

Please tell me the next run will be ok - doing that on Sunday!

W6R1 was a nightmare for me, it was the first really hard run of the whole program. R2 nearly (but not quite) as bad. But R3 was a total breeze. I think that mirrors the experience of an awful lot of us.

I'm itching to start week 7 tonight :-)

Keep at it, it's just a very small blip in your progress to 5k.

Thanks Duncan - I am trying to stay positive and am looking forward to the next run. I am sure that this was a bit of a blip (well thats what I keep telling myself) so I am going to trust the programme and keep going.

If you managed run 1 then I'm confident you will manage run 2. :) Just remember to stay positive and make sure you prepare by fuelling up drinking plenty of water.
