oh no oh no oh no help me !
Sounds like a visit to the Dr required... and stop running until you've been poked about and looked at properly. Chin up, feel for you, just be patient with yourself, I was reading (I know, I know, reading about running.. I bought the Complete Guide to Women's Running by Runners World yesterday lol) anyway just read the bit on knees for you but it might not be the knee that has the issue the knee might just be communicating someone elses problem get it checked out then you'll need to do some stretching exercises...
thanks for the advise. getting an appointment with the doctors and getting any help out of them these days is not easy though it's it. they will probably say its due to my weight (like everything else apparently) bet they can't bloody run for half hour though can they!!!! is ps I bought a running mag too (how sad are we lol)
Chuckle. Very sad... you could bypass the Dr part and go see someone who knows about sports injuries? Local physio ? I know they charge but might not be extortionate?
Tired of the weight thing myself too... I'm waiting for the day I get to go back to Dr and inform I run 30 mins 3 times a week... Have they heard of C25k... You should have a go...
Heehee - I've been buying running magazines too.........
My boss sent me to his sports physio once when I'd put my back out. I think it cost about £30 for a half hour session. It was well worth it - the exercises and manipulation he did felt a bit aggressive at the time but he fixed the problem in just the one session.
Oh Pricey I sympathise.
I have not been able to run for the two weeks since graduating because my knees were just so painful.
Went to a sports therapist (£35) and she has been excellent. Also went to the doc who wasn't and didn't look as though she could run for 5 mins never mind 30!
Did my first run back tonight and started with week 2 but running as fast as I could in the 90 sec running intervals. Went loads further than I did when I did week 2 first time round and so far knees ok... Going to take it easier this time though.
Seek some advice and rest until the pain goes. That way you will be back faster.
Good luck.
cheers everyone I am not running at mo. will try again in a few days but boy do I feel guilty, it's like I'm cheeting on my running husband lol
also I feel the size of a whale!
