As I said, amazed that I accomplished 3 weeks now! I thought by week 2 that shin splints and tight hamstrings would derail me, but I've been extra careful to stretch dutifully before and after. Now I'm slightly nervous about week 4 but I will not give up!

Good to hear you have managed to keep going! I had trouble with shin splints also and did the usual RICE technique, but would also recommend some horse chestnut gel from the chemist. It is great for tired legs and always seemed to help when my shins were sore

Thanks so much for the encouragement and the gel tip. (and believe me, I have the RICE technique locked in my brain if I need it!)
Whats the RICE technique???? I sufer from Shin Splints and have Ibruprofen 10% Gel from my GP but anything else will help

just GOOGLE the words RICE technique (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation)...in addition to gels, it helps for sprains, strains, muscle pulls, etc...worth a try.
