Hi
I know the feeling. Week 4 seemed like a big jump. I know you can do it though.
I just did wk6 r1. I am 53 and have not been very active for about 2yrs. I won't lie it was a little bit of a challenge on the last 5 min but you can do it!!! Every run you are improving. The key I believe is to be patient and pace yourself so you finish. That is more important than how fast or far u get. You wanna to stay healthy and injury free so you can get through program. Wait till you finish wk5 r3 20min no break that was when I really believed ok I can do this. GOOD LUCK FRIDAY I know you will make it
Go for it. You’ll be fine, remember slow and steady, it’s all about building yourself up not for speed. Happy running!
One third of this down... you’re ready... you’re also ready to amaze yourself... relax you can do this.
Slow and steady, trust the plan and have confidence in yourself...
As Edison said,
"If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves."
Hi Kimn34, you will do it, and the further you get in the program the more amazed you will feel 👏
It’s a wonderful feeling isn’t it
Great for completing wk3. You are so ready for wk4 , all the runs up until now have prepared you for it. Good luck 😊
The first run of the next week is always a bit scary but W3 has well prepared you. Trust the program, believe in yourself & go slowly🐌 you will do it!!
Hi Kimm34, I know exactly how you feel. I´m on W3R4 and after bad pain in the back of my knee from doing too much (Gym, running, weights and 2 hr dancing on coarse concrete floor 2 weeks ago) I got an injection in the knee, rested the next day as well, but being pain free, very very carefully tried a run and voila, no pain. Been at it again, but despite new adidas running shoes (IannodaTruffe) I´m determined to take it slow. Had too many injuries and operations since Dec.2017.
My goal is the Vienna Cancer Research Run again on 5 October, but as close to 30 mins as possible. Not that it matters how one accumulates the stamps, just want to have a joyful casual but respectable run. After all, I´m in the middle of the "Krebsforschungslauf 2019" banner
So, in short, do whatever feels right for you. Go for it, but don´t push yourself too hard!
Thank you and well done for keeping going after the injury
I dont know what Im doing, but my knee is going from bad to worse. Ive got a Baker Zyste now and my knee is getting stiffer by the hour. My doctor wants to give me injections, but from experience I know cortison doesn't agree with me. Had a lovely and successful run yesterday though, was so pleased with myself ....
Keeping myself busy, ignoring the pain, hoping itll disappear. I know, very adult 😣
