Week3 run3 - completed in the rain!

well I waited until the sun was shining after a downpour & ventured out - just as I started my first jog the rain came down. You know what - I kept on going right till the end. I wouldnt have done that a few weeks ago.

I wasnt even sure I'd get this far as my knees & legs have been hurting but I followed the advice on here about RICE, stretches etc, & I got there.

I couldnt stop smiling as I did my warm down walk home. I got some odd looks from passers-by who scurried past this mad woman who was soaked from head to foot and grinning inanely. I'm so happy!

I'm not finding it easy either. My heart & lungs seem ok, its my poor legs that are struggling. I've signed up to do a 5k run in July & I'm determined to run it all. So thats keeping me going plus I find reading the blogs on this forum is so motivating. Good luck with finishing W3 - you can do it!

Its the other way round for me, my legs seem fine, my lungs are on fire lol. Good luck with the 5k run, you will get there, have been thinking of doing that but not sure when I will finish this training. I think I may do another wk 3 just to feel comfortable with it. It will probably take me twice the time its meant to, keep me posted on your progress!!

Hi Bandit - I think if you can do wk3, try wk4. You can always reduce it to wk3 if you need to. You'll be surprised just how much your stamina has improved in a week. I'm just back from wk4r1 & beginning to think I can actually do this week. let me know how it goes. J

Hi Jennie, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the encouragement you gave me to go onto wk 4. I did it for the first time today, after a 3 day break though. I didn't think I would be able to do it, but I just tried to take my mind elsewhere and relaxed into it. Last week I was struggling a little to complete the 3 minutes so I don't know where it came from today to get through the 5 minutes. I am so surprised, I just hope that the other two runs this week go just as well. I hope you have completed your 2nd/3rd run as well as your 1st. Let me know, Bandit

Hi Jennie, WK4 in the bag, tough though! Thought I was gonna die on the first half, second half not too bad, I was glad I gave it a go. Should I ask why wk 5 is dreaded?? Do I want to know?? Arghhhh!!!

Well done! I'm trying not to think too much about week 5R3 -.20 minutes running!!! I might take this one slowly & do over two weeks as I dont think the old legs can stand the pace.
