Did W3R1 last night fine but woke up this morning with sore stomach muscles - I have a bit of a beer belly so is this just part of getting fitter and losing said belly?

With the longer distances coming in you may be using your core muscles more than they are used to. In that case the pain should wear off in a couple of days.
who knew you could get tighter stomach muscles from running - but I've definitely found it to be true....and you notice it more and more as you go on....should be fine tomorrow...
for me it makes it all worthwhile when my stomach muscles hurt.. ..feels like good is being done &.one day there will be slightly less there!
