hey has anyone out there done their local park run?

Its a brilliant and most of all its free!!

Not yet - only just graduated - but I've signed up and will be out there in a couple of weeks! Can't wait...... Have you done one yet, givman?

Yep, done 7 since I graduated last October. Great fun and an incentive to get another PB and to beat your previous time.

For those who haven't done one yet - go for it. Don't worry if you come last (which I doubt that any of us on here would) there are normally a number of walkers doing the route too. Also your first run will set the benchmark for all future runs. There on in you can only improve and get new PBs! It's great to see how your times come down. So, bite the bullet and try one.

I have done it once to get an 'official' pb. although didn't pick the best week as it was raining so the walkers were not out! didn't come last, just nearly last despite running in 37 minutes. I am probably going to change to a different one as i prefer single circular route rather than one with laps as find it tough to motivate when you have been lapped twice and you still have 2 out of 3 laps to go! however very well organised, low key, friendly and everyone waits to cheer the stragglers at the end.

I have done the Cardiff one once so far, amazing experience, very friendly and a lovely route through Bute Park. I plan to do another very soon.
