Don't know whether it's my mid-life crisis ... it's my 42nd birthday on the day of the event too! Has anyone else on here entered?

hmmm and there goes another one... :) it's ok, it seems to happen end of week 5 - week 7 the mind turns to running in organised events... I don't think much can be done about it, resistance is possibly futile anyway

They do look fun events :) maybe i should think about it.... Lol

now if Mr B3anyboy was around he would approve of such madness, he graduated covered in mud running one of those types of events

OK. Didn't know what you were on about so just googled it, and then watched a clip. I know I don't even know you but I am now seriously worried about your grip on reality lol! (Speaking as one who got traumatised the first time she got a bit of mud on her pristine new trainers lol!) Seriously it looks like mad fun, hope you enjoy! If that's the right word!

I've realised I should have explained it better, but am glad you took the time to look it up. I'm really looking forward to it :-)

I've now realised I'm probably going to need some new trainers for this as I suspect my current ones would be wrecked by the mud. I'll be asking for recommendations in a mo. :-)

Thanks Bxster, I'll take a look. I've posted a new question just asking for recommendations on trainers as I'm sure I won't be the only one trying to find something suitable.

Good running :-)

I've actually been entertaining the idea of a half marathon in September, I must have a screw loose! I'll have to get to 5k first.

I saw an article about Katie Price doing on of those XRunner things, it looked um...fun!

Yes she did the first one in the series which was on Saturday, but there was no way I would've been ready for that! I'm doing w6r2 first thing tomorrow, and I've lost 15 pounds so far and am on target to be at my ideal weight for the event 88 days and counting :-)

The more the merrier, I've already recruited 2 friends and possibly a third. It was the fun aspect of it that really appealed to me :-)

still thinking about doing this.............. and still talking myself out of the crazyness by finding every excuse possible but I foolishly told a mate at work about it who's really interested in doing it and now won't let me forget about it! Doh! It's all your fault!
