The warm weather and lighter evenings have made me think about my summer running attire.
I would feel much more comfortable in shorts but being in my mid 50s and a stone overweight I want something that is loose and a decent length. Just above the knee ideally.
Any suggestions?

you haven't said what you are wearing at the moment, I have long black leggings, they are quite lightweight and I use them all year round. I think you can get them in shorts length,
I have a couple of lightweight sports shirts made of that sweat-wicking material - mens medium size, which means they are quite long making sure no-one can see whether or not my bum looks big in the leggings (it does!)
I wear 3/4 length leggings (but with flared legs) from sainsburys - £8 excellent value but my fleece or yellow fluorescent top has been hiding my backside, plus it has been half dark! I have this horrible vision of everything jiggling even with a T shirt over the top.
Has anyone tried men's shorts with the built in pants??? OMG I can't believe I'm asking this!
I know these aren't above the knee, but I bought 2 pairs recently and they are fantastic, they are very comfy and wash really well and most of all, they don't show lumps and bumps!!!
even running in just leggings is a little scary, i mean my joggers are 3/4 length and baggy so they hide my ginormous thighs, but i do get really hot in them. When i was looking on internet for womens running shorts earlier all i could find where ridiculously short shorts which would only look good if you had really nice toned legs ... maybe the answer is finding leggings which arent that thick
