I have just finished my 1st run of week 1! I c... - Couch to 5K
I have just finished my 1st run of week 1! I came home a sweaty, puffed out, red faced mess though - same for everyone? Will it get easier??
Yup sounds like the 'to be expected' condition, and yup it gets easier... Well... You kind of get used to it...
Well done you keep going. It doesn't get easier (so you think) you will be building up your stamina. Stick with the lord almighty Laura and I promise you will get there. Read my last blogs and you will then realise you are not alone at every stage. You have everyone here who knows exactly what you are going through. Stick with Laura you will do it just do not go too fast. Best of luck x
Well done do my 2 run of wk1 tomorrow keep going it can only get better lol
Pretty much! I'm just about to start w9 and I always come back sweaty and puffed out....shows you've had a good work out!!! Red face - some runs alot worse than others!
Thanks everyone!! Wow, only just done my first run and there's already so much support!!
I look like a fried tomato after I run. Welcome to the club!
Now the weather's just taken a turn for the better, I realise how much I liked running in the cold - I was all rugged up in thermals, hat and gloves and felt really cosy, yet didn't come back too bad in the way of tomato-dom. Yesterday I had to run in just trackpants and t-shirt (should have been shorts but the world's not ready for that yet) and still got really hot and bothered. My face isn't just red - it's kind of blotchy red and white, a bit like raspberry ripple....... I'm on week 7 by the way - don't think this is going to change - except I think I'm recovering more quickly.
You may not think it, but yes, it does get easier. And when you're further into the programme you'll look back and realise how much progress you've made. Keep going.
Sweaty, puffed out and red faced is what you should be aiming for! Well done, you are exerting yourself sufficiently. Now you know what you should be aiming for in future runs. Good luck with your progress!
If you think you are red-faced, just wait till you run in warm weather! I was like a beetroot all through the summer after every run. It's only now that the temps have dropped so much that I can come back from running and be what I prefer to think of as "attractively pink" rather than scarlet
