At last - W3R2

Finally - after 8 days of work and weather to limit my options, I got to run W3R2 today. Warm sun on my back, even at 8.45am in January, made it a fairly pleasant experience. I was a bit nervous given the longer than strictly necessary eight "rest" days (well, I never claimed not to be fundamentally lazy) but it went well and I'll feel more confident finishing this week and moving to W4.

I'm slightly tempted to do W3R3 tomorrow, given I had such a long break. I'll see how the legs feel today and maybe try a late afternoon run tomorrow - it would be good to feel happier about running at a different time of day. It would give me more flexibility in fitting runs in between other things. Maybe running into the sunset would be as good as running into the dawn.

I'd be interested to know if other people are "strict" about when they run.

Hey well done you - I never worried about precise time of day, I just committed to the day in question. But that was when I was fit and not so very fundamentally as lazy as I am now...

I found giving myself the flexibility helped, particularly if the weather forecast improved later in the day - which here it often does, we suffer from foggy mornings and wet mist. My first run this time around was about 11am and today's 2pm.

The run is the thing I reckon not the timing, unless like Mr JCR you have a pathological need to timetable 😜

The rest days are really important, I found, when doing the programme.

Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day here, too! I also took advantage of it going out for a run.

Let us know how you progress...

Well done sheps! I may be too late now, but I always leave at least a day between runs (whatever time I end up doing them) as per the advice in the programme. All the best for continued success!

Well, I did what I know to be right and didn't run today. I did, however, go for a one hour brisk and hilly walk instead so did my body two lots of good. More than that, it's such a fantastic day here today that the afternoon sunshine did my soul good too. And no coat necessary!

hi   sheps ..yes, I am strict with my times, it’s either up with the birds at ridiculous o’clock and before 9:30am or after 6:30pm…those times seem to suit me and my head won’t let me enjoy or complete a run at any other time of the day for some strange reason…and I am always, always strict with rest days, just a walk or something else in between run days …..we can be odd creatures can’t we?!!
