Christmas Day Parkrun

A bit late posting, but my goal was to run a ParkRun. So when I heard there was a Christmas Day Parkrun local to me, I knew I had to do it.

I planned to run for 30 minutes then walk and run the last bit. However, with a huge crowd and the amazing atmosphere, I actually ran most of the 5k, with just a couple of short walking sections. I hadn't expected a great time but was over the moon to finish in under 37 minutes!

Needless to say, dear admin, I have suffered from muscle stiffness for a few days, but no hip or knee niggles. I'll be back to the 30 minute consolidation runs next week ...

and a new name (not a Newbie)

The dreaded Parkrun Overenthusiasm, absolutely understandable, lots of us get it (and suffer the consequences).

Congratulations on your Christmas run, make sure everyone knows your new name once you change it. Talk about 'a new year, a new me' - go for it!! :)

well done you…sounds like you set off at quite a rate though?!! I’m not going to say it because you know what the problem was (naughty naughty πŸ€£πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«)

Next time, I’m sure having learnt an important lesson, you will come away with stiffness in your face from smiling so much πŸ˜‰
