First parkrun 😁

So, I just did my first parkrun (in my santa hat). Feeling pretty proud of myself despite my slow time. I am on week 9, run 1 so I ran for 30 minutes and walked the rest (I am nowhere near 5k but I'm happy with how I did) It was fun and everyone was so friendly and encouraging.

Congratulations on completing your first parkrun in a Santa hat, well done, I ran my 14th parkrun in a Santa hat this morning, I also wore a Santa hat at last weeks parkrun No. 13 as well.

Good luck for your graduation run, some day next week. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Thanks, yes, I am not sure how I will fit my runs in. Bit disappointed I won't graduate before Christmas but hopefully before the new year πŸ™‚

Can’t you do an Xmas day parkrun to graduate? That’s be fab! Many parkruns do an extra one on Xmas day.

I did look into that πŸ™‚ but I don't think I am quite that dedicated (yet) πŸ˜‚

Excellent, well done on park run. Did my first in 4 years after lots of injury and general laziness. It's a great achievement. Even michael Johnson gave up part way round. Who needs him. 2 more and you'll be there .

Thanks, hoping to graduate this year 🀞 had to have a break and repeat week 8 due to nasty cold with chesty cough, grrr. Will definitely take a while longer before I can run the whole parkrun. I managed 2 and a bit laps out of 3.

Running for 30 minutes is bloody amazing! Who cares how fast it was! I can only dream of being able to achieve that at the moment! Hopefully I’ll be following in your footsteps and saying the same thing in 9 weeks time :) x

Honestly, neither did I. I found out I had osteoarthritis this year but I have always had knee problems. I came to the conclusion this year that my knees aren't getting any better and with the blessing of my GP I am going to run even though it's painful. The best thing I learnt is to go much slower, I can run faster but it's better for my knees and I can go further if I go slow πŸ™‚ wishing you well on your c25k journey πŸ’•
