Devastating when this happens. So glad you found comfort in your run. As time goes by your memories will bring you joy. Let the passing be your inspiration to push on and achieve your goals. God bless you.

sad to hear of your loss, I had my dog for 17 years and still not over it three years later although remembering the good times helps all the best, very brave to do something so positive at this time good luck

Aww... I'm so sorry... That's so tough... Our 13 year old had to be put down last year... Oh but it HURTS. Sending you a big hug

I have been a member of Health Unlocked for three years and found it hugely inspirational. But I have never posted until now.

Your post resonated with me so much. We lost our beloved cockapoo 7 months ago at the age of 12. My heart shattered and it was beyond painful. It still is…

I promise you that C25K can help. It gave me headspace to process my grief. I listen to music and some of the music reminds me of him so I could (and can) smile through the tears.

The devastation does diminish over time, but the residual sadness is always with me. I come back from my run to a house not a home.

We found the Blue Cross Bereavement service so supportive in the early days. Might be worth contacting them.

People deal with grief differently I know. My heart goes out to you and I do hope that running helps to ease the tiniest bit of pain while you are doing it.

I’m so sorry, this is really sad. Beautiful that she inspired you to run. It’s going to be a year since I lost my dog.

Every place I run reminds me of her as she used to come with me the first time I did C25K.

Beautiful and sad memories.

May she inspire you on same days to run and also allow yourself time to grieve as you need to 🫂💗

So sorry for your loss, there is.no shame in grieving deeply for a pet. I still miss my beautiful girl Missy (below) 4 years on and while I have another dog and will grieve for him too when he’s gone it’s not missy. Good work with the running. Be kind to yourself.

Deepest sympathy. The most devastating part of being a pet owner. The pain we feel at there loss is the price we pay for the years of joy they bring us. Enjoy your runs and remember the good times, your little Poppie would never want to see you sad x

I can feel your pain. I have a 12y old JR girl and I know that I'll be in bits when I lose her. Fo me running is always a solitary activity. Such a beautiful way of letting your emotions run free while moving your body. You're lucky you have that, and am amazing community here 💕

Oh, I am so very sorry for your loss. It is always such a devastating time...

I'm happy her memory spurred you on to Week 4 Run 2. You can carry her with you every time you run...

So sorry for your loss, Diadem 70. Whenever we lose a dog we go down to the local rescue centre and give another sorry soul a home. It NEVER replaces the pain of losing the previous one but it helps to think you're doing something positive to help relieve it somewhat and you'll have another running partner in the bargain who'll be so grateful you! Take care
