Why no difference

I;ve been running for the last 6 weeks but haven't lost weight or had any dramatic 'shape' change. I know I;m fitter now that i was 6 weeks ago but when will the weight drop?

Hi Beepbeep! Well done on getting to week 6!! That's brilliant. I am on week 6 too!

I am sure you must be changing shape with all this running! Did you take your measurements before when you started? I measured my Chest/ Wasit/ Hip/ Thigh and arms, and am seeing a very gradual change in shape (like 2cm off in each place).

I've lost over a stone since I started _but_ I have been religiously sticking to weight watchers plan for 8 weeks now, so attribute my weight loss to that (and a general increase in activity which the plan encourages), If I'd not been doing weight watchers I think I could've easily "overcompensated" for the extra exercise - with an extra biscuit here, a helping of chips there etc

Food for thought - literally I think! Don't give up though - you're a runner now! Good luck with week 7!

i think clearlyam may have a good point, a well balanced eating plan may help. i do the speciak k eating plan which is free and on line . well done though with the running week 6 is really good

I don't think the programme is aimed at weight loss, it's aimed at getting you off the couch but it's only around 200 calories per session - you can easily eat or drink more to compensate and see no weight loss. I haven't lost any weight (I'm on week 7) but my shape has improved slightly. For a dramatic difference you would need to change your diet or run for much longer (or both) in my opinion.

Ditto! I am on week 9 on Monday, dropped a few pounds but nothing to write home about, and my clothes are no looser BUT more importantly I am definitely fitter and strangely more confident, dunno why : x
