A bit of a difference.

The first pic is of me when I completed W6R3 about 4 months ago. The second is of me today after a lovely slow 5k. I cannot believe how much C25k has changed my life. Not only am I 4 and a half stone lighter, fitter and healthier but my mental health has also improved. I look forward to run days and try to run with mindfulness taking in the beautiful sights of where I run. I think I am now completely hooked and can’t imagine my life without running 3x a week.

I had started to get a bit obsessed with time and pace and pushing myself to get quicker. I had a word with myself and thought I’m running for my own pleasure, I’m never going to race so there is no reason to worry about time. I just love getting out and seeing the beautiful countryside and if it takes 45 mins to run 5k then that’s 5k or 45mins more than I could run in Feb when I started C25k.

What a difference c25k can make. Well done twinkle that has taken a lot of effort on your side. Don’t you look great? The love of running shows.

I’m not sure what kind of witchcraft C25k is ..... but it definitely works 🧙‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♀️😉 x

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I can’t imagine life without running now which I never would have dreamed of. My mental health has seen great benefits too. I’m not doing this purely for weight loss but am a little disappointed to have only lost 6lbs. People say I’m building muscle but if this lot condenses down to muscle I’m gonna go through the floorboards!!!

Your post has really helped show me what is possible. Thank you again 🏃🏻‍♀️👍🏻🏃🏻‍♀️

Thank you Vintage61.

When I first started C25k I lost a stone and a half very quickly. Then I went quite few weeks with no weight loss at all. Had C25k not got its claws into me and I had just been dieting, I think I would’ve given up. Fortunately it was more about the running than dieting (although I do try and keep in calorie deficit) and after my body had got used to the new demands I’ve started to see a gradual loss of on average 1-2lb a week.

6lb is an amazing loss and will increase....just give it a little time ❤️

Thank you, I’m sure it will start to move. I’m trying not to be officially on a diet and I find that puts me right off, cutting portion size and trying to eat healthily and mindfully. Has to be sustainable I guess

Lovely post Twinkle2 - I remember your really early posts when you told us you’d run in jeans and a big coat so you wouldn’t be seen. You’ve come a huge distance since then! You should rightly feel proud of yourself- we’re all proud of you too! Happy running!

Thank you Oldgirlruns. I remember those early days too well 😩

I also remember all the support you have given me from the start and know I wouldn’t be here without it ❤️

Awesome! 👏👏👏 superb post and story....we’ve all become 🏃‍♂️ addicts! I graduated last week and did my first Parkrun on Saturday but so got the running bug now! Mrs D same story which for two people who are not really sporty, in fact many years of being sedentary, is a real life changer! C25K is a miracle!

Fab, well done! Great motivation for those of us who are not quite that far along yet too- thank you 😁

What an amazing transformation. Grand work! You must have altered your eating to complement the C25K as well, though?

I got on the scales this morning and put 4lbs on! 😫 But then I have been eating chocolate waffles for breakfast all week.
