Good morning runners!

The above stats are for the 3 runs of week 9, the one on the left with the best time being this morning's.

The first two runs of the week I ran for 30 mins but didn't quite get to 5k, was tempted to continue running to complete but thought I'd just stick to the programme.

Today's run I decided that I was 100% getting back to a sub 30 5k. Music a "music like Mr Bkuesky" playlist id previously found on YouTube music.

Few stretches and a glass of water in the house before I set off for warm up walk then off and running!

1st km felt good, settled into a rhythm in

time to the music, wasn't sure how long I'd be able to maintain it but was sure going to try.

Km 2 and 3 I managed to keep it up but could certainly feel it in my legs and was doubting Id even get to 5k never mind maintain the pace.

Km4 was hard, lots of deep breaths and mentally driving myself on.

Last km was hard! Looked at my watch a lot to see how far I had to go and seemed to last forever.

Was very grateful to hear the 5k buzzer and was super pleased to see that I'd not only gone sub 30 but I'd managed to comfortably get back to sub 28 😁.

It wasnt easy and still some way off my old times but I'm nowhere near as fit (or thin πŸ˜‚) as I was a couple of years back. I'm confident il get there again if I keep up the running 🀞🏻

I've really enjoyed doing c25k again and looking forward to trying the new runs on the app in a day or so.

Have a great day and happy running!

Well done! You succeeded on both counts, 30 minutes and > 5k can’t say I’ll get to 5k in 30 but you have inspired me to keep going πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Congratulations on completing C25K again, great runs 😁I noticed it looks like you have a Garmin watch. Mine has Pacing Pro Strategies (click More then Training and planning). This allows you to work out what pace you need to run to achieve a run in a given time.

Generally runs feel more comfortable if you start slowly then speed up. Maybe next time you run 5k aim for doing the first km at 5:53, the next at 5:32 etc finishing with 5:19. I bet you that, everything else being equal it'll be less hard work.

Once again well done.

Thank you, I do have a Garmin and have never used that feature. Or many others to be honest πŸ˜‚ I will have to have a good look through.

Well done... your runs, your way...:) As a Graduate already, you have decided on your goals for speed and distance...and you are on the way. Maybe tine now to pop across to Bridge to 10K and take a peek at the links and the support there, to move you on further!

Awesome work! Well done! There’s some Beyond 5K runs in the Couch25K app, a good one with Steve Cram on pacing that you might enjoy.
