Ten years had Achilles rupture leaving weaker range of movement to left leg. Just about to start week 4 but my right calf is getting fatigued. Wonder if I need to change running style and how.

Well ..changing style could prove tricky...but some regular exercise, focused on those calf muscles could really help.I tore my Achilles , ( not running ), a good few years back..and three plaster casts later ...my calf muscles needed building back.

Lots of exercises to choose from on the S and F Forum. Take a peek.

I tore the right Achilles..and my left leg is still now, my leading and strongest leg.

Try to find some calf exercises, which you think you can maintain.. to help get those legs stronger.x.

Try these.. healthunlocked.com/strength.......

hmmm..changing running style at this point could lead to more issues or other issues elsewhere…I’d just make sure I def stretched before and after my runs and also the days in between…I’m sure there’ll be some specific exercises you could do to help …

Did you have physio at the time and if so, could you do those exercises again to strengthen and protect that leg? If not, could it be worth paying for a good sports physio for one or two sessions to know what best to do?

In the absence of that and given your leg is beginning to feel it, I would suggest slowing the progression a little.

Maybe give yourself an extra rest day each time and repeat each week rather than speed through the programme? Use the extra days for overall body conditioning exercises with special attention to both legs?

Hope you find the right balance of progress and enjoyment without causing any problems. Let us know how you get on.

Wonder if you might want to consider a physio to help you with specific exercises/therapy that might help?
